One of the best free events in Devon in the Summer is The [Tag]Dawlish Airshow[/Tag], not only do they usually have a great collection of airplanes, they have static helicopters and best of all – its free.

The Airshow is one of the biggest free airshows in the country with static displays in the morning and the actual flying in the afternoon.

Static Displays
The static displays are all helicopters and they land at either of 2 sites – Dawlish Warren or the South Dawlish “Smugglers Inn” site during the morning of the airshow. They are then made safe and their air and ground crews are on hand to talk to the public and show them around the aircraft.

The Air Show
The Airshow starts early afternoon and is one of the best free Airshows in the UK, in 2008 we had the Battle of Britain Flight, KC-135 tanker, The [Tag]Red Arrows[/Tag], Tornado to name but a few, the highlight for me though was Eurofighter.

So if you are in Devon in August be sure to get yourself down to Dawlish, you wont be dissapointed.
