There was a time when an [tag]email signature[/tag] just copied your business card with name, company, title, phone, fax and email address – for a lot of people that is still true.
There is however a growing number of Web Savvy execs who are breaking the mold and integrating a [tag]social media signature[/tag] into their email sign off. So you may ask why, what’s the point? Well it’s fair to say the two definitive purposes of an email signature are to tell the recipient a little about yourself (i.e. job title, company name, contact number etc.) and to give them different ways to contact you. Social media networking sites are a simple extension of these two functions, giving people more information about yourself and additional ways to interact.
Well Twitter, LinkedIn and a blog link are the most popular and the most well known followed then by Skype and Facebook.
So go on give it a try, change that signature you’ve had for ages, you won’t regret it.
