Exeter Car Boot Sale and Sunday Market at Matford Centre

Hello there! If you are new here why not subscribe to my RSS feed for updates on this and other topics.
Exeter has a very diverse retail scenario with 3 shopping centres in Exeter itself and once a week a massive car boot and Sunday market.

This market is open each and every Sunday from 6.45 am and is literally massive, it’s based at the Matford centre on Marsh Barton (opposite BMW) and has around 300+ car booters as well as around 50 traders – on a good day, i.e. not raining.

So what do you as a visitor get?
• The entire site is Tarmac so even if it’s wet you shouldn’t get wet feet

• Free car parking in the park and ride site – beware the traffic wardens are often on the lookout for people that park on the verges.

• Free admission.

Is it worth going?
This is the $64000 question as I don’t know as a reader what you expect, if you are prepared to root out a bargain, be it an old book some bird food or maybe just a bargain you didn’t even know you wanted its worth a visit. If on the other hand you only buy new/don’t do car boot sales then stay away you’ll hate it.

I have to confess I go along every now and then and have routed out some real bargains be it kids toys and new stuff from traders who maybe have acquired bankrupt stock and also

Finally the great thing about the car boot is that each and every week a local charity gets a % of all tickets sold with a guaranteed minimum of £400 so the local community benefits as well.
