V & A Museum
The V & A is just a short stroll down from Harrods and you could combine the two – they arent far away. I have covered the V & A in a previous post here, with its changing exhibitons you can always see something new, to put it simply I think the V and A is one of London’s finest museums.
Harrods
Why is this here, well if you’ve never been you need to. This si the most famous retail store in the world and I dont know any other one where the staff are so helpful, and so diverse. The store is a tourist attraction in itself, just walk around the many floors and you will here accents and cultures from all over the world. Then pay the food halls a visit or the hideously expensive jewellery, then why not go upstairs for afternoon tea in the Georgian Restaurant, and finally why not buy some gold, Harrods have just started selling this instore!
Some call Harrods tacky, some say its full of tourists, i just love it for its diversity
Opening Hours
Monday to Saturday: 10am – 8pm
Sunday: 11:30am – 6pm
South Bank
This for me is an area, an area thats great for strolling and just taking in the air, i love crossing Tower Bridge into Shad Thames then along past Butlers Wharf (great for refreshment stop) past city hall and HMS Belfast. The carry on past Shakesphere Globe, you touch on Borough Market and Southwark Cathedral and end up at the Tate Modern and the Millennium Bridge that you can cross and head for St Pauls – its right in front of you.
A fabulous stroll, very safe and child friendly.
