I have spoken at numerous events in and around the South West of England mainly in the topics of Inbound Marketing and Social Media, ensuring the topics of the likes of Facebook and Inbound Marketing are covered in way suitable for the audience be it top managers or a recent charity seminar at Seale Hayne I spoke at for 2 hours.

Indeed Geoffrey Read of the Company Secretary of the The Devon & Cornwall Food Association said of this recent seminar;

“I recently attended a seminar at Dame Hannah’s near Newton Abbot on the subject of Online Marketing which was presented by Alistair. I never really thought such things would affect our Charitable Company but this seminar certainly opened my eyes! I very much appreciate his advice and have no reservation in recommending him to others.”

So for your next business event, be it presenting to your sales team of just getting your workforce to think more about engagement in the online world why not give me a shout.

Some more quotes from satisfied attendees;

“I can sum this up in very few words: “Alistair REALLY knows his stuff.” You want a few more? OK – He’s a focused and realistic marketing professional. If you want a no-nonsense, down-to-earth and plain English approach, you really should be speaking with Alistair”
Sue Haswell, Director, Big Results PR & Marketing Ltd

“Alistair’s concise approach to social media awareness & exposure within the third sector, coupled with his underlying knowledge of the strategies required by charities to succeed make him an interesting and informative speaker on the subject.”
Ashley Wyeth, Corporate, St Loye’s Foundation

To get in touch and enquire further about having me come and speak at your next event why not use my contact form here.

A great friend of mine James Barisic who I have run a number of Seminars with previously is running two great Social Media seminars in July in London, one Twitter for business and one for Solicitors and Social media. If you are in and around London and want great help and advice from an impartial and maybe controversial speaker then I can heartily recommend James.

Please read the synopsis below and click on the links to see more and book.

Twitter for Business click here

You may already be on Twitter or you may be thinking about it. Whichever applies to you, going back to basics allows you to learn and apply the best techniques to grow your audience and your business online. I’ll also show you some common mistakes and how to avoid them!

We will explore the purpose of Twitter and where it fits not only within social media but also within a wider marketing strategy. We will be looking at Facebook, LinkedIn and other sites, how they interlink and what drives traffic.

Click here for more info or to book.

Solicitors and Social Media how to get it right click here

You will have read in the Gazette and elsewhere that more and more solicitors are developing followings online. This session, run by former corporate commercial solicitor James Barisic, will guide you through the basics of social media, looking at Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn – and show you how to get the most out of it.

Click here for more info or to book.

Both events are at the St Giles Hotel in Bedford Avenue, London.

I spoke at an awesome Charity Presentation this evening for introducing Social Media to the Charity sector, this was held at Everys Solicitors in Exeter.

Hello there! If you are new here why not subscribe to my RSS feed for updates on this and other topics.

So what did we cover? well we split this into a number of parts

Introduction to Social Media

We showed a number of Social Media websites we think you should be involved with and why

Today’s web is all about Social Media – which, in turn, is all about sharing, engaging and communicating with like-minded individuals.

Social networks and blogs are the 4th most popular online activities – beating personal email!

Through a plethora of tools and features, including discussions forums, blogs, videos, photos, instant messaging, etc…. these sites quickly become a part of the day-to-day life of their users, who develop a rapport with, and trust in, fellow members.

Attendees with myself

We showed how other charities are using these Social Media sites to their advantage

‘Our target audience is the entire community, all ages, interests and abilities; people have the highest expectations of us for transparency and accountability; we need to raise funds, friends and corporate supporters; we have merchandise to market; we need to involve and support volunteers and supporters; we need to report our activities.’

- Sarah Burden, PR Manager Devon Air Ambulance Trust www.daat.org

Finally offered tips on how you can get started with Social Media

Why not start a group for your organisation? Be sure to post a number of updates on recent progress – be it the introduction of a new product, service, client or a success story. It’s free and you don’t need any experience in computer programming… www.facebook.com

Consider uploading a product demonstration or welcome to your business onto YouTube. Don’t forget to ‘attach’ keywords to your videos so that it can be found by potential customers that are actively searching for the products and or services which you provide… www.youtube.com

Set up a twitter profile and start tweeting. Use tools like twitter’s search to see what people are saying about you and respond to them… www.twitter.com

Speak to professionals and get advice you wont regret it!
